Lately I've been falling back into my obsession with American history. Or rather, Antebellum Age -> Civil War -> Post Civil War -> Jazz Age -> Depression -> Hollywood and etc. history.
I've been rewatching the beach-marching scene from the end of Glory over and over and over again. I don't know why, but there's something about the music that's getting to me. The main theme of the movie + the beating drums in the background + Colonel Shaw looking back on his men and then leading the march of the 54th regiment on Fort Wagner... aaaaagh it's so good.
(I could've sworn that he was riding a horse last time I saw this scene though... oh well.)
The first and only time I ever recall watching this movie was in AP US, but I feel like I've heard the main theme play before when I was younger, cause it's one of those motifs that would randomly get stuck in my head every so often when I was little. I think.
