During my nap yesterday:
- entered an office where people were playing card games with color backed cards. I don't remember what the games were but I don't think they exist in real life, although I apparently already knew how to play in the dream.
- after playing one round and taking a break, I notice that the walls of the office are covered with posters detailing CS-style proofs about the card games using material from CS172 (Computability and Complexity)... which I haven't taken yet. But apparently knew enough about for proofs to show up in my dream.
(! - this is the first time I've had a CS related dream. ever.)
- later in the dream, I find myself going to church (specifically, the Ark, but in a huge auditorium setting) in a huge crowd of people arriving late. I see Ryan in the front row.
- they put on a trailer for a movie coming out this winter that's apparently about Jesus in some kind of action adventure with cartoonish looking warrior angels.
- then I see a rather tall version of Mickey Mouse + the rest of the main Disney crew walking to a theater to see the movie.
- in front of the theater, Mickey suddenly sees an equally tall evil version of himself standing across the street. Confrontation ensues.
- I hear Johny's voice asking if I'm awake yet and I wake up. >_>
From last night:
- The entirety of this dream takes place in a video game I'm playing. Except my perspective is inside the game, but at some points it suddenly shifts to watching a screen but I don't really notice during the dream.
- The intro/prelude sequence is an extremely stressful timed affair that involves trying to escape from a harbor and its police force while the harbor is in a state of emergency. Alarms are going off around the place due to some event that's not really related to me, and I don't actually see any police, but I constantly feel like someone's about to catch me during the entire level.
- End up jumping through a flashy geyser-spurting water fountain in the middle of the port and then arriving at a cargo ship about to depart. I meet my female rendezvous who resembles the voodoo enchantress from the first Gabriel Knight game as the ship departs for Europe.
- The actual first level sequence is REALLY FREAKY. I'm not in it at all for whatever the reason, but I'm controlling the woman as some demonic force that resembles Cthulhu invades the cargo ship during the trip and everything goes haywire.
- ...I don't remember all the details, but the sequence somehow ends inside a dark giant crate, with the woman forcing? herself to give birth to a demon child in midair, shooting it at the demon (like it EXPLODES out of her). I mean HOLY CRAP that was terrifying.
- Afterwards, the woman recovers, and we get lectured by some stranger as the ship docks at a village in Europe.
- Second level has me and the woman walking along a path from the village to the next destination. The woman starts playing with a pendant on her neck and hearing voices as we're walking. I'm told by the game's resident disembodied voice that the goal of this level is to make sure that she doesn't go insane from the voices and the evil spirits (that apparently are going to harass us this entire trip).
- ...This game is really freaking me out.
- We arrive at an busy outdoors Asian market, where we meet several people including a guy that resembles the what's-his-face male lead from Twilight. The game suddenly puts on hackneyed American drama music and my goal is suddenly to prevent the woman from being swayed by him, AND from going insane from the demonic voices. -_________-
- ...And I wind up chasing after both Twilight guy and woman through the streets of the crowded market. Which suddenly resembles Costco.
- Third level (I have no memory of how I end up here) I find myself outside a hotel. I'm hanging off of one of those plank things painters use to paint the exterior of a building on high floors - I'm outside like the 50th floor.
- I can see my parents inside one room through the windows. In the room next to them is girl writing at a desk, on which are registration forms to adopt a child. The goal of the game becomes ensuring that my parents adopt a child. O_o
- At first I think I have to figure out some way to sneak into the office and snatch a form when the girl isn't looking... but the window suddenly turns into a ticket booth and I just ask the girl for a form.
- I give my parents in the next room the form, and find out the form's already been written on. Signed by my dad. Mom didn't know about this. DUN-DUN-DUN.
-...some arbitrary point later on, I'm in the second floor of a lobby of a different hotel (this doesn't feel like a game anymore) and I get a phone call from Jordan J asking to meet up with him.
- I wait for a bit but don't see him, so I head over to the suite that happens to be in the lobby and knock on the door. Inside which are a bunch of random guys from IV.
- Apparently I forgot that the person who called me was Jordan J cause I'm asking for a different Jordan in the suite. But when I woke up I realized that I don't know any other Jordans in IV, so I have no idea.
- Insert Derek C somewhere here. >_>
- I wait in the lobby again, and I call Jordan and find out he's left the hotel. ...No wait, he's actually about to leave the hotel! I walk over to the ledge and see him walking past the bottom of the escalator next to me.
- Before I can go down the escalator I suddenly find myself trying to resist the urge to jump over the ledge and injure myself. And it's very hard to resist.
-...Insert me driving a small open aired car, making a u-turn, avoiding a train and police cars. I don't remember which part of the dream this was.
So yeah there were a bunch of details in both dreams that I forgot, but I have to say I haven't remembered dreams this vividly in a while. My dreams get really freaky and convoluted sometimes.
I also have a couple of more dreams to write about from earlier this year, but I'll get to them later.
Is it weird to have memory of how things looked in your dreams, even if you hadn't been there before? It just occurred to me that I can still vividly remember scenes from particular dreams I've had over the years.
