Currently listening to the new Broken Social Scene album, Forgiveness Rock Record. Doesn't strike me as much as their last two albums did (You Forgot It In People and s/t were more... cohesive), but it's still got some good moments.
I have to say though, I think this album finally cemented my opinion that female-centered BSS songs >>>> most of the male-centered BSS songs (although granted, there are more male centric songs than female centered songs...). Which is why I was really disappointed the one time I saw them live when they didn't have any female vocalists.
Seriously, Almost Crimes. Anthems for a Seventeen Year Old Girl. 7/4 (Shoreline). Swimmers. And now, All to All and Sentimental X's. All so freaking gooooooood.
