Dreams

So last night I dreamt that I was wandering through a dark cityscape that oddly resembled Baltimore, Maryland from The Wire. I think I was trying to investigate the entrance to some shady office building that looked like the entrance to a branch of that agency that kept trying to capture Carmen Sandiego, when a nuclear missile suddenly struck the building because I'd been peering at it for too long.

*rewind time*

So I'm walking through this city during the day trying to reach my Race and American Film class when I realize that I accidentally left my backpack at home (how I didn't notice this until having walked a mile, I have no idea). I also left my laptop on at home and connected to some anime mIRC channel. I save time by using an ability that creates a doppelganger of myself in the area I want to return to and instantly teleports me back to the apartment, where I manage to dodge Nathan in the hallway so as to not freak him out since he doesn't know that I can teleport long distances.

I sign myself off of mIRC and a bunch of annoying pop up windows come up that take forever to close (I'll skip this part because it's difficult to explain), and several frustrating laptop moments later I teleport back to where I left my doppelganger. It's already nighttime and I evidently forgot about my backpack cause it's not in the dream anymore.

So now I'm wandering through the city like I did in the first part of the dream, and I walk up this alley when this rabid dog shows up in the middle of the street. It starts barking really loudly and hopping off in the opposite direction. I realize that my cover's been blown and I rush back the direction I came from, running towards the building I was investigating at the beginning. This time I try to figure out how to not trigger the nuclear missile that strikes this building. Apparently it's struck the building every time I've tried to investigate it for too long. Out of paranoia that the missile will strike at any second, I decide to fly up into the air above the building.

(in my dreams, it's natural for me to have the ability to fly into the air at any random moment's notice. I think it developed out of my desire to escape bad things in my dreams.)

Eventually I decide to phase into the building next door. The moment I land, I run into Justin, who somehow apparently knows the answer to why the missile strikes the building every time I look at it.

Justin: I'll give you a hint. It lies somewhere between (0,0) and (0, theta).

Me: Uh... What does that mean?

Justin: ...Well (0,0) obviously means that the event takes place independent of time and temporal causal factors. DUDE, you should take this class I'm taking right now! Soc 194 with Professor Oren, it talks about this kind of stuff - time travel and dimension theory - and I think you'd really like it!

So I go on schedule.berkeley.edu in my head to look up the class, and then I wake up.

...What the crap just happened? @_@
