So this break (actually more than 1 break ago but moreso this break) I discovered the phenomenon that is Scene It at a friend's place. And now I am craving a trivia game.
The only thing is that having attempted some random trivia stuff online, it occurred to me that what I really want is to play a multiplayer trivia game with the buzzers and stuff. Maybe not Trivia Pursuit persay (too general), but I could go for something a bit more specific. I like the way Scene It manages to handle so many different kinds of questions all over the same subject (movies), using stuff like movie clips and posters and credit sequences and anagrams... ok maybe less so about the clips and anagrams, but still.
I like their system of awarding more points based on when you buzz in and stuff; it kinda reminds me of Quiz Bowl, except that in Scene It, the computer handles the timer so you have a wider variety in the amount of points you could get from a question rather than just getting power or no power like you did in Quiz Bowl. And for some types of questions the answers are handled anonymously if you get the answer wrong or until everyone has answered, which gives everyone a chance to get some points. I just like the system a lot I guess.
But anyway, Berkeley tomorrow! I am looking forward to it.
